About ABAGAIL
Abagail Dennis
Abagail Dennis is the Community Engagement and Housing Support Assistant for the Historic South Initiative (HSI). She is especially interested in using her position to learn more about nonprofit work while contributing to HSI’s mission of building stronger, healthier communities.
Abagail is currently a student at Bowling Green State University, where she is majoring in Adolescent and Young Adult Social Studies Education with minors in History and Nonprofit Administration. She has volunteered in Toledo for the past three years, working with both children and adults, and is passionate about making equity a priority in her work. As an education major, she believes that learning is a powerful tool for all ages, because education leads to advocacy and advocacy leads to change.
Through her studies and her work at HSI, Abagail hopes to become a resource of information for others. She values gathering knowledge that is relevant to people’s daily lives and sharing it in ways that create greater access and opportunity.
Outside of school and work, Abagail and her partner Jacob are raising their two cats, Jelly and Fallon. They enjoy spending time outdoors, especially near the water, and Abagail also loves baking, crafting, and reading.
