Mike Badik

Mike Badik is the Director of Real Estate for the Historic South Initiative (HSI), where he guides housing development projects and collaborates with partners to strengthen Toledo’s Old South End. His work focuses on creating affordable housing opportunities, revitalizing neighborhoods, and building sustainable pathways for community growth.

Mike brings decades of experience in real estate, community development, and organizational leadership. Over his career, he has managed large-scale housing initiatives, overseen policy and program implementation, and built strong collaborations across public, private, and nonprofit sectors. His values include collaborative planning, decisive action, and a commitment to results. Known for his grant writing and management expertise as well as his deep knowledge of community organizing and development, Mike has consistently turned strategic vision into tangible outcomes.

Outside of his professional work, Mike and his wife Jeanne have been married for 45 years. Together they have raised four adult children and now enjoy being grandparents to ten grandchildren ranging from toddlers to teenagers. Mike comes from a big family himself with six brothers and sisters. He treasures time spent camping, hiking, reading, and cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events.
