Resident Outreach and Intake Coordinator | LISC AmeriCorps

Historic South Initiative is hiring a LISC AmeriCorps Volunteer to be the first face residents see when they ask us for help in Toledo’s Old South End.

You will respond in person to residents who have asked for help, look at what the whole household needs, connect people to the right HSI program or partner, and follow up to make sure they were served. You will keep the record of that work and report what it shows, and you will represent HSI at Old South End Partnership Pilot Team meetings.

The position

  • 1,700 hours, full-time, 12 months

  • $27,200 living allowance, paid by LISC

  • $7,395 Segal Education Award on completing the term

  • Health insurance at no premium cost to you and childcare assistance, if eligible

  • Ongoing coaching, mentorship and professional development

  • Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, with some evenings and occasional weekends

  • Supervisor: Joe Cordella, Vice President of Operations

  • Enrollment on February 1, 2027; service begins the next business day, once LISC clears the signed agreement and a background check

What you bring

  • Comfort talking with people you have just met, in homes and at public meetings

  • Careful record-keeping and comfort working with data

  • Lived experience in the Old South End or a similar neighborhood, and the ability to build trust across differences

  • Conversational Spanish preferred, not required

Who can apply

  • Any generation, at least 17 years old

  • Unexpired proof of status as a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

  • Consent to a criminal history check, which is required for all candidates
